It's alright to feel what and how you feel towards another person. Being a friend it's good indeed that you cared, and tell the person you care for about her/his doings that you think it might not mean so good. Nevertheless, it's always up to that individual to decide what they want to do in their lives, and other people certainly has no say whatsoever over her/his decision. Advise will always remain as an advise, it's up to personal choice to listen or to avoid. Don't take it too hard on yourself, you've done what you think needed to be done.
